CONCURSO LITERARIO 2026
1.- EL CONCURSO LITERARIO 2026 tendrá dos niveles: el NIVEL ADULTO (mayores de 18 años) y el NIVEL JUVENIL (entre las edades de 13 a 17 años inclusive). El consursante debe ser cubano o de origen cubano. Y se puede participar en el mismo desde Cuba a nivel de parroquías o desde cualquier país de la Diáspora Cubana.
2.- Cada participante podrá presentar solo una obra, con la particularidad bilingue, la misma se puede escribir en español o en inglés.
3.- El tema del trabajo será la Vida del Venerable Padre Félix Varela. Las obras se tendrán que enviar en formato DOC, a dos espacios, sin indicar dentro del documento el nombre ni datos personales del o de la participante. Se usará la letra ARIAL # 12 . El trabajo no debe exceder la extensión de ocho páginas ni ser menor de tres páginas.
4.- Los Premios de los ganadores serán: PRIMER LUGAR, un libro de la biografía del Padre Félix Varela y quinientos dólares en efectivo. SEGUNDO LUGAR, un libro escrito por el Padre Félix Varela y trescientos dólares en efectivo. TERCER LUGAR, un libro escrito por el Padre Félix Varela y cien dólares en efectivo.
5.- El jurado será previa y de forma secreta designado por el presidente y los directivos de la Fundación Félix Varela. El jurado valorará, entre otros, los siguientes aspectos:
– Adecuación temática – Fuentes – Escritura – Originalidad.6.- El envío del trabajo a la Fundación Varela será por correo a la dirección de la Fundación Padre Félix Varela, sita en 85 Grand Canal # 106, Miami, Florida 33144 o por el correo electrónico a la dirección sitioweb@ecosdevarela.org
7.- Una vez que el trabajo se haya recibido, la Fundación Félix Varela se ocupará de contactar e identificar al concursante, sin compartir esta información con los miembros del jurado. Esta información será completamente privada y ningún miembro del jurado tendrá acceso a ella.
8.- La fecha límite para la recepción del trabajo es Julio 18, 2026. No habrá excepciones.
9.- Las obras presentadas tendrán que ser originales de la autora o autor y no haber sido publicadas ni ganadoras de ningún premio previo. Los autores autorizan a la Fundación Padre Félix Varela a usar los trabajos para promover el objetivo de la organización. La autora o autor continuará conservando el derecho de autor y de explotación de su relato.
10.- En el mes de noviembre del 2026, previo anuncio de la fecha de la Peña Vareliana correspondiente, se darán a conocer los ganadores del concurso y se entregarán todos los premios.

2026 LITERARY CONTEST
PADRE FÉLIX VARELA FOUNDATION
SUBJECT: LIFE AND WORK OF THE VENERABLE FATHER FELIX VARELA
1) The Literary Contest will have two levels: ADULTS (18 years and older) and YOUTHS (betweed the ages of 13 and 17). The contestant should be Cuban or of Cuban origin. A person can participate from Cuba through a Catholic Parish or from a country of the Cuban Diaspora. Participation of persons from foreign countries that are interested in the subject is encouraged.
2) A participant can only submit a single manuscript which can be written in English or Spanish.
3) Manuscripts have to be submitted in DOC format, double spaced, using ARIAL 12 font. No name or personal information of the writer can be included in the manuscript submitted. The work must have a minimum of three pages and a maximum of eight. On the outside of the envelope containing the document, sent by regular mail, the sender will write name, address and telephone number.
4) PRIZES: All prizes apply equally to both levels, First place in each level, a book on the biography of Father Felix Varela and five hundred dollars. Second place, a book written by Father Felix Varela and two hundred dollars. Third place, a book written by Father Felix Varela and one hundred dollars.
5) The jury will be appointed in secret by the president and the board of directors of the Fundación Felix Varela. In evaluating the submitted works, the jury will pay particular attention, though not exclusively, to the following: a. How well the theme is presented. b. Sources c. Grammar and mechanics. d. Originality.
6) The envelope wiil be sent by regular mail to: FUNDACION PADRE FELIX VARELA, 85 Grand Canal # 106. Miami, Florida 33144 or by E-mail: “sitioweb@ecosdevarela.com”.
7) Once a document is received, the Fundación will contact the sender so that a secure identification is made. This information will be completely private; furthermore, no contest judge will have access to it.
8) The deadline to receive manuscripts is July 18, 2026. There will be no exceptions. Be aware that post office mail from many areas, in the United States and abroad, is extremely slow.
9) Manuscripts submitted must be of original authorship and cannot have been published previously. No work can have received a prize in any other contest.
Authors release rights of submitted manuscripts to the Fundación Felix Varela. Manuscripts can be used in any promotional or communication (media) materials of the organization. Copyrights remain with the authors.
10) Prizes will be presented to the winners in a celebration to be held during the month of November, 2026. Day, place and time will be communicated to the winners well in advance.
